Race For Life
Get Creative!
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK where thousands of women all round the country come together to share amazing moments and simply walk, jog or run 5k to raise money to help beat cancer.
Since 1994, women of all ages and fitness levels across the UK have come together at these inspiring events. Some take part in celebration of surviving a cancer experience. Others take part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future. But all of them share a common goal: to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work to beat cancer.
Every pound raised in sponsorship or fundraising helps to fund the work of over 4,800 researchers, doctors and nurses dedicated to helping more people beat cancer.
So far, an incredible 4.7 million women have raised over £370 million to fund Cancer Research UK's life-saving work. Cancer survival rates have doubled over the last thirty years and our work has been at the heart of this progress.
When are Race for Life events?
There are over 230 Race for Life events taking place around the country between May and July and are open to women across the UK. This year, we hope 700,000 women will come together to share amazing moments at Race for Life and help beat cancer.

How you can get creative!
1. Why don't you decorate your back sign ready for the big event? Add a touch of bling and colour to your sign and make sure that your reason for running stands out from the crowd!
2. We expect you have friends and family involved with this huge event so why don't you create a hand-made card to wish them luck before the big event and to say 'Well Done' after they have ran the Race For Life?
3. Make sure you take plenty of photographs of you, your friends and family taking part in the Race For Life so you can create a memory book of the big day! Scrapbooking your photographs and treasuring your back sign should be as important as scrapbooking those precious, treasured photographs...after all, you have raised money to fund Cancer Research UK's life-saving work!
