Create a Card for Compton Campaign

The ‘Create a Card for Compton’ Campaign got off to an excellent start earlier this year when Craft Creations ran an article on the launch. Compton Hospice would like to extend its thanks to Craft Creation readers for their wonderful support. Well over 1,000 cards were donated as a result of the article so that meant over £1,000 in donations for the hospice. This years campaign is set to make about £3,000 which has crashed through the £2,000 target.

The campaign, which was the brainchild of Mathew Hill of Mountain Ash Craft in Bobbington, Wolverhampton, has been delighted with the response. He says: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of card makers and the quality of their work. It only goes to show what caring people our customers are and we thank them all for their kind donations to this worthwhile cause.”

Karen Bowyer, Corporate Fundraiser for Compton Hospice adds: “This has been a really popular campaign within our business community. The high quality cards are flying out the doors because they are so reasonably priced too!”

A recent ‘Create a Card for Compton’ Event was held at the Mountain Ash Craft shop at Halfpenny Green Vineyard in Bobbington. The company donated all the materials needed for the event and shoppers were encouraged to make and donate a card. Karen concluded: “There was a brilliant atmosphere, with loads of experts on hand to help. It was very generous of Mat and his team and the event resulted in a substantial boost of cards for Christmas.”
